You are looking at a beautiful fishing spear. Here in Minnesota, it can be used for rough fish, like carp and sucker, but there is a spearing season for northern pike thru the ice in winter too I guess.
The 'business end' of the spear has five points measuring just over 5 inches in width, with a total length of the metallic part (tines and socket) just over 14".
The handle was recently replaced. It's oak and in total, the spear is not quite 8 feet long. Note the 3' long ruler in the one photo.
I originally thought to call this a 'trident' - the tool used by Poseidon or Neptune, but a real trident only has three tines. With five tines, you get even more! Branch out and catch a new kind of fish!
Sucker spearing season will be here in no time! Check out the photos and write with questions or if interested in buying.
