When you walk into a home for a consultation, the client already knows who we are and they already want what we have. Your job is to design the dream and close the contract.
A Day in the Life of an Obsidian Consultant:
Your morning will typically start at our design center, reviewing the day's scheduled appointments. You aren't just selling "gadgets"; you are selling a lifestyle. You will spend your afternoons visiting high-end properties and meeting with homeowners to discuss their vision for their space. You might be designing a $50,000 home theater in the morning and a full-home automated lighting and security package in the afternoon. You will use our proprietary software to build 3D quotes on your tablet and present them directly to the client. This is a consultative, high-touch sales process that requires a sharp mind and a professional presence.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a "Closing Consultant." You don't need to be a tech genius—we have engineers who handle the complex wiring and installation—but you do need to be someone who can speak confidently with affluent clients. We want someone who understands that sales is about solving problems, not just reciting product features. If you have experience in high-end retail, automotive sales, real estate, or home improvement, your skills will translate perfectly. Most importantly, you must be a self-starter who takes pride in their work and doesn't need to be micro-managed to hit their goals.
Our Commitment to Your Income:
We believe that if we take care of our people, they will take care of our clients. Our compensation plan is designed to be the best in the industry:
* Base Salary: $60,000 guaranteed annual base, paid bi-weekly. This provides you with the stability you need to focus on the long-term sale.
* Commission Structure: You earn 8% of the gross sale on every project you sign. With our average project size being $25,000, the commissions add up very quickly.
* Annual OTE: A first-year representative should realistically expect to earn between $100,000 and $125,000. Our senior consultants are consistently clearing $160,000+.
* Perks: We provide a monthly $400 stipend for your vehicle and phone. We also offer 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance after your 90-day probationary period.
* Growth: We are opening two new showrooms this year. We need people who want to move into management roles as we expand.
