Hello. My name is Matt and I am the owner and sole employee of Matt’s Carpentry. I provide finish carpentry as well as general carpentry and home repairs. I work in Duluth and the surrounding area.
I focus on the small jobs that the big guys won’t bother with, that take anywhere from a day to a week or two. I think this is a needed offering, as I’ve been told by many people that they can’t find anyone to take on small jobs.
I am the only person you will deal with throughout the job, no middlemen.
I work cleanly on site. All my tools are connected to vacuums when cutting inside and I set up dust containment and use filter fans when necessary, and I clean up at the end of each day and do my best to take up as little space as possible.
Things I do include:
- Trim
- Interior and exterior door installation
- Storm door installation
- Cabinet installation
- Wainscoting/paneling
- Tongue and grove/shiplap. Both on walls and ceilings.
- Small flooring jobs including vinyl plank, laminate and hardwood.
- Hardwood repairs
- Interior painting
- Railings and handrails
- Stair tread replacement
- Custom built cabinets/built ins (excluding full kitchens)
- Custom shelving/closet organization
- I also do some handyman type work such as faucet and toilet replacements, light fixtures etc.)
- General repairs (sticking doors, lock set and door knob replacement, door latch mortising etc.)
- Custom woodwork projects. I have a fully equipped wood shop and can build custom items.
Things I don’t do:
- Drywall hanging (with the exception of a small amount if necessary for a carpentry project), drywall taping (again, a small amount if necessary for a project.)
- Drywall repairs
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Siding
- Roofing
- countertops (with some exceptions)
