Ceramic Studio Manager -Duluth Art Institute

You will oversee and coordinate essential operations of the ceramic studio, work with artists and provide artist services to our talented studio artists. You will have access to the many amenities of the DAI Ceramic Studio. This is an opportunity for ceramists and potters not to miss!
10 hours a week
Hours are flexible
Reports to the DAI Executive Director, works closely with the Education Program Manager
The position requires proven experience with ceramics and clay studio operations, proven experience with equipment use and upkeep, ability to teach proper kiln use, proven experience with managing people and strong interpersonal skills.

Ceramic Studio Manager Responsibilities:
Overseeing the maintenance of and cleanliness of the ceramic studio
Organize semi-annual studio cleanup day
Oversee studio monitors including their training and schedules
Oversee and inform renters with regards to studio use compliance
Answer any questions renters have or clarify anything in the agreement
Coordinate billing for kiln firings and clay purchases with the DAI operations manager
Coordinate the calendar for kiln firings and openings
Coordinate the log book for documenting kiln firings
Inform DAI Executive Director of repairs and issues with equipment and coordinate repairs with guidance from the DAI Executive Director
Coordinate information for rental applicants with the Education Program Manager
Responsible for clay studio material orders
Oversee clay studio material deliveries
Assist with DAI events as needed
Answer alarm calls
Proficient using Outlook, Microsoft, and other platforms.
Requires lifting, must be able to independently lift 25 lbs.
