Developing a better music scene in Duluth (please read)

Hello and thanks for taking a minute to read this. I am looking to hear from local musicians, event planners, patrons, etc. on what some of the challenges and frustrations you experience as part of the Duluth music scene.

From my perspective, it seems like Duluth is ripe with musical talent and interested patrons but seriously lacks a concentrated vision to bring it all together. There is a substantial amount of literature available that focuses on how to develop and improve a music scene. My goal in hearing from you all is to start to take inventory of what is working well and what is working very poorly so that as a community we can start to tackle some of these barriers and improve things for everyone.

In case you are curious, the below article (and the report embedded in it) is what has inspired me to take on this challenge. I think Duluth has a lot going for it in terms of being music-friendly, but we need to make a concerted effort to address the shortfalls in order to make an improvement.
