2 Soviet MP37 NPN Germanium transistors — tested ~23–26 hFE cold (rises to ~27 when warm).
I built and tested these in a Dallas Fuzz Face (negative-ground setup) and they sound excellent — louder with more drive and smoother guitar-volume cleanup/roll-off than many medium-gain pairs I've tried. Great raw/spitty character. Also worked well in silicon-germanium hybrids.
A bit lower hFE than the 'classic' 70–85/120–140 recommendation, but many builders actually prefer low-gain in Q1 for a more dynamic, less compressed tone. These are perfect if you like to tweak bias (easy with trimmers).
Also includes 1 D9B + 2 D9A diodes (good for distortion/fuzz clipping).
$8 or trade for other interesting Ge transistors. Local pickup in Duluth.
