Raw wool - $5 (Carlton)

make / manufacturer: Icelandic/Shetland
Attention spinners and felters!
We have raw Icelandic and Icelandic/Shetland cross wool to sell.
We just started processing this year and realize that we have WAY too much wool to process ourselves.

We have spring and fall wool from multiple years, separated of course by year, color, and individual sheep. Both lamb and ewe wool available.

We shear 20 sheep in the spring and around 40 plus sheep and lambs in the fall. This does not hurt the sheep. This is a relief to them...like getting a haircut. The fleeces have been kept out of heat. People have commented on how soft our Icelandic fleece is compared to some. Maybe its the love we give?

Fleeces range from 2-4.5 pounds depending on age of sheep and quality. Fall fleece is cleaner than spring fleece because the sheep are in the pasture in the summer. During the winter sheep eat hay and are messy, so spring wool has more vegetable fiber stuck in the fleece. This comes out with carding, but it's time intensive.

Prices are negotiable.
Starting at $5/pound for decent/usable spring wool.
The clean fall wool will be more depending on the quality. Lamb wool will be more.
Fall lamb wool starting around $10 pound. Ewes less.

Colors: white, cream, variegated, many shades of gray, and black.

Thanks.
Laura
