Rudy’s Bar & Grill is seeking a dependable, experienced cooks to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate can work independently, maintain consistent food quality, and handle a fast-paced environment during both lunch and dinner service.
Primary Responsibilities
• Ordering & stock rotation
• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes
• Operate flat top, grill, fryer, and other kitchen equipment safely
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout service
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
• Assist with daily prep, stocking, and inventory rotation
• Communicate effectively with staff to ensure smooth service
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and cooking times
• Handle busy rush periods with accuracy and efficiency
Required Skills:
• Previous line-cook or short-order cooking experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
• Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and health/safety standards
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with bar/restaurant food menus
• Familiarity with inventory rotation and portion control
• ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to assist with specials, prep lists, and kitchen organization
• Experience training or mentoring other kitchen staff
