These were released by Eastern Color, also known as “Famous Funnies’ in the 1940’s and 1950’s and each issue relates s a TRUE story of heroism sent in by a Reader, the illustrated by comics’ legends!! The "Official" Title is "New Heroic Comics", but they are under "Heroic" in Overstreet!
54 – May 1949 – VG/FN! “Plunge for Life” with Pencils and Inks by A. Thompson tells of a rescue from Hazardous rocks and swift currents! “Death Trap”, “Human Torch” has Johnny Craig art! “Mile a Minute Rescue”, “Heroes of the Boxing Ring”, “Without Hesitation” features Abbott and Costello!! And many more! Each story is between 2 and 4 pages long!
59 – March 1950 – VG! “Human Torch” has Wonder Woman’s Harry Peter art! “Tragedy on Jamaica Bay”, “Double Reward” a Babysitter’s story, “Lifesaving Neighbor”, “ “Danger in Shallow Water!” with Ruth Atkinson art , “Cheating Death on Wheels!” with Sam Glanzman art and “Snake Bite” just to name a few!
67 – July 1951 – GD/VG! “Sky Welcome with Open Arms” the cover story, “A Friend in Deed”, “Down to the Sea... But Not in Ships” has Fred Guardineer art! “Handicapped Heroine” has Harry G. Peter art! “Taxi in the Pond”, “The Scared Life Saver!” has incredible Frank Frazetta art! “Invisible Killer” has Bill Walton art and many more!!
