Here are volume one and two of the SAE handbook for 1976. These contain all kinds of specifications for cars, motorcycles, tractors and even heavy machinery that was built in 1976. If you need to know the specifications of the various brakes or lights or other system in any vehicles for this year, you will likely find them in here. This covers materials like steel, fuel, oils, and fasteners, braking systems, protective equipment from seat belts to tractor roll over protection, trailer wiring, hydraulic systems and more. A solid engineering reference, or just a great book to look over from time to time to better understand what went into creating a SAE standards compliant vehicle for 1976. The bindings are good on these with no writing that I see and just some spots on the covers from use and storage.
