This heavy duty hydraulic butt fusion machine is used to join thermoplastic pipe (like plastic HDPE & PP) by melting and joining their ends. It is widely used in plumbing, sewer lines, natural gas distribution networks, industrial chemical lines, geothermal piping systems, and municipal water systems for a secure, leak-proof joint.
How the Fusion Process Works:
1. The pipes are placed in the machine's serrated jaws and firmly clamped to ensure perfect alignment.
2. An electric facer (milling cutter) shaves the ends of both pipes, creating perfectly flat, parallel surface.
3. A Teflon-coated heating plate is inserted between the pipe ends, applying controlled heat and pressure until the plastic melts uniformly.
4. The heater is removed, and the molten pipe ends are hydraulically pressed together with a specific amount of fusion force to create a solid, continuous joint.
5. The joint is left to cool under pressure until the new weld reaches structural strength.
Summary:
It creates permanent, leak-free, fused joints by precisely heating the ends of two pipe sections and pressing them together under controlled hydraulic-pressure.
